Repair or replace

Questions people ask
Tank or tankless?
Tankless makes sense if you have the gas capacity, want endless hot water, and plan to stay in the house long enough to see the payback. A good tank heater is still the right answer for a lot of homes. We'll go through it based on your house.
Why is there water around the base of my heater?
Condensation, a leaking relief valve, a loose drain valve, or the tank itself. The first three are repairs. The last one means replacement. If it's actively leaking, shut off the water supply to the heater and call.
Do I need an expansion tank?
If your home has a pressure regulator or backflow preventer, the system is closed and the answer is yes. Code requires it on new installs, and it protects the tank and your fixtures from pressure spikes.
How long does a replacement take?
A like-for-like tank swap is usually done in a few hours. Tankless conversions take longer because of venting and gas line work.
